Unique characteristics of this Historic Hotel

Dating back to the seventeen hundreds, this hotel is the oldest in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the oldest in Europe and in the world.

Lord Byron stayed in this Hotel, located almost in the heart of Sintra`s historic centre, while writing part of his famous Childe Harold Pilgrimage.

Bill Clinton, along with two queens and many other important figures, chose to stay here. The Prime Minister of Portugal once said that the hotel’s restaurant was his favorite in all of Portugal !

In fact, this location prefers to be known as a "restaurant with rooms" rather than a hotel, due to its highly rated à la carte menu and extensive wine list. The town enjoys a moderate climate all year round and a beautiful terrace, which overlooks the Atlantic coast, provides the perfect setting for a civil wedding celebration in Sintra!
